Lesson goals:

• understand that Jesus had the Father send the Holy Spirit to help us live in love and obedience to Christ's commands
• Apply your understanding by evaluating your own level of reliance on the Holy Spirit's help

Scripture: John 14:15-17

"If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever-- the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you."

Challenge from Whitney:

• When you are in a tough situation, you need to remember to ask for help! Pray and remember that you have the Holy Spirit inside you when you know Christ, so ask for His help.
